Course Syllabus and Class Notes

Comments and Information on Grading

Any student found using a cell-phone during any examination or quiz will receive a zero on that examination or quiz.

Exams: Six quizzes in class : September 9
                              September 23
                              October 9
                              October 23
                              November 13
                              December 2

Quizzes will total 36% of the final grade (6% each). A missed quiz can
be made up by visiting the Observatory five times. A total of six
Observatory visits will be accepted for credit.

Mid-Term exams: on September 30 and November 4, contribute 15% each to
           the final grade.

Final exam: Wednesday, December 10, 2:45--4:45
Final Exam will count 34% of the final grade.

This course will be graded on a curve. I expect, but do NOT promise, that
the average grade will be in the C range

Make-up Policy: No make-up for final exam. No early finals.
Make-up tests will be offered only with prior arrangement.
